CAN I HELP YOU?

Doris had another great day at the shop today. She helped many customers find what they were looking for

PORKY BELLY

DORIS ATE A LIZARD

Doris ate a rubber toy lizard on Wednesday. My son left it sitting next to her and when he came back to get it, all that was left was a leg and a tail. Now it was soft rubber so it wasn't too bad. But when placed in water it expands!! So of course we were stressed out hoping it would make it's way through Doris's bowels before it expanded and stuck. Poo inspection Thursday was negative. Friday doris delivered a very green baby lizard (in many pieces) Congratulations Doris!

WORKING GIRLS

TODDLER

WHO IS DORIS?

At the Doris shop I have a blackboard outside with a story about Doris. It's called "Who is Doris?" This is the current feature...

Sometimes you become obsessed with your dog. You know?! I obviously did and with good reason. She is my 1st "child". She was always getting into strife and eating things she shouldn't. This led to lots of visits to the vet. Doris endured many painfil proceedures with tolerance and patience. She always showed compassion for the other sick animals and fondness for the people who helped her recouperate. She was strong, brave and loving through it all.

FAIRY GODMOTHER

TEDDY BEAR

Doris has been described as a living teddy bear.

SISTER SINDU

Doris has a sister (not biological) called Sindu. She is a standard English Bull Terrior. Sindu was named after my yoga teacher and she is now 8 years old. She came to us through a friend who had rescued her from one of those bad breeders who was about to put her down because she was born with congenital deafness. Sindu learnt sign language very easily. She is a wild child, she never stops running around, chasing butterflies and chewing her ball.

WORKING DOG

Doris came to the shop today. She beat me to the gate whaen i was leaving. Her beautiful warm brown eyes looked up at me and how could i say no! She had a great morning with plenty of pats, treats and cuddles. I am sure she would be happy to "work" everyday. Everything goes along smoothly until about 4 oçlock. That's dinner time and she starts to woof at me to feed her. Doris has a lovely deep roo roo woof. Lucky I took extra biscuits!

DAY OF THE DORIS

This blog is essentially about Doris. My miniature english bull terrior. I love her dearly. So much, I named my shop after her. "Something for Doris" A vintage and new clothing jewellery and decor store at 84b Kembla St Wollongong NSW. She is the perfect logo. I am very proud of the store and what it has become. I have been open since July 2006. I have a lot of regular customers who love the store and adore Doris. The store is all about Doris. She is featured on all the price tags. I have had little chocolate buttons printed with Doris that i give out to customers. I have 3 Doris prints on T-shirts(see website) and I'm looking at adding more Doris items to the shop this year too. Doris comes in to the shop about once a week. She walks around under the clothes very slowly... it's very funny. She loves the customers and the treats she gets all day. I have a special lounge chair just for her behind the counter, for afternoon nanna naps.
